The tower of pearls

Firstly, I never wanted this blog to be full of photos of signs written in Chinglish – it’s too obvious and a bit overdone.  But, I couldn’t resist this one from the entry to the Oriental Pearl Tower ….

Can you believe it: I had to leave my chihauhau and samurai sword in a box at the entry counter.  And I definitely saw people who were insane and not dressed properly, but as they were not obviously drunk as well, they were given unrestricted entry.

Anyway, after lining up for a long time, I made it to the Baby Pearl aka the Space Module, located 350 metres up (proof of name and elevation is below)

It is the ideal place to take in Shanghai’s famously hazy skyline …

and the crazed character and pace of development of the Pudong section of the city.  The elevated walkway is almost finished thankfully, as none of the roads at the intersection have a crossing.

    The walkway is hilarious.
Also, I think the sign is OK, because the content itself is funny, not just the bad English.
